The 2015 Hong Kong Trampoline International Invitation Championships was held from 17th-18th July, in Wu Kai Sha Youth Village (乌溪沙青年新村) located in Sha Tin, Hong Kong. 5 countries participated in this competition, meant for gymnasts who are starting out on the international circuit.
Trampoline Singapore sent two representatives, Lee Kern Choong (Men’ Individual) and Lee Tze Yern, Victoria (Women’s Individual) to participate in the competition.
We are pleased to announce that both of them have achieved a commendable 2nd runner-up in each of their respective events. This is especially impressive as both are participating in their first ever international competitive event.
This is also the first ever competition, local or international, that Trampoline Singapore has been represented at and we are delighted at the results.
We would like to recognize this momentous occasion by thanking the following people, for traveling to Hong Kong with the team and for their part in making this possible:
- Head of Delegation: Soh Choon Chik, William
- Head Coach: Jia Lu Hong
- Assistant Coach: Tan Xi Ting, Jeanette
- Judge: Keong Seng Chye
- Gymnast: Lee Kern Choong
- Gymnast: Lee Tze Yern, Victoria
Our goal in participating was two-fold; to allow our gymnastics to gain international competitive experience and also to observe the running of international competitions in preparation for conducting our own. The results of the 2 gymnasts is testament to their good training and the society’s efforts. Additionally, we will put what we have learnt and experienced to good use in preparing for our very own competition, coming soon!
We hope that you are as delighted as we are in the good results and are looking forward to the upcoming competition!
Watch our gymnast, Lee Kern Choong, in action, in the Finals!
